The Midot Seal for Effectiveness examines and evaluates a nonprofit's competence and ability to create social value and bring about positive change while utilizing its resources most effectively. The evaluation method was developed specifically for this purpose that rate the nonprofit’s managerial capabilities. The metrics include planning, execution, measurement and learning, leadership, and finances. The rating process helps promote optimal practices within the organization while serving as a public seal of approval for nonprofits.
220 non-profits with a valid seal (as of June 2023) manage a cumulative turnover of ₪5.6 billion. To date, over ₪100 million have been channeled to nonprofits with a seal through "Igul LeTova", which requires organizations it supports to have a Midot seal . Leading philanthropic foundations consider the Midot Seal when making allocations. 55% of nonprofits that went through the process testified to internal benefits from the process beyond money; about a third of them also testified to actual change and significant improvement in routine management processes.
